some things that bug me about clojure
  • startup time

    Clojure's startup time drives me insane. I have to write applications that I can knock over and reboot at the REPL. I can't write Clojure scripts that run in a reasonable time, unlike Python or even Bash scripts.

  • stacktraces

    This is actually a lot better with Cider. Cider is a bit of a PITA in some respects (it can't manage multiple REPL connections, for instance), but it's got great stacktrace handling (for Emacs at least).

  • typing

    I discovered recently that type hinting isn't enforced. Boo.
